Vintage vs Contemporary

If you are into collecting anything at all, then Paris is probably the best place to embark on your treasure hunt.  A stroll in the district of Marais would not disappoint.  From stores that carry classic furniture from the 1950s to design shops that focus on contemporary lighting, they demonstrate the varied taste of the French population.

I read with a certain degree of doubt that the French society is highly structured in its social hierarchy. But if this is the case, then it makes perfect sense that the French wants to react against conformity by being outwardly individualistic, even though it may only be skin deep.  For now, I reserve the right to deliberate on this view.
